Kim has over 10 years’ experience providing tailored planning and advisory solutions for businesses, charities, family offices and private individuals. She specialises in trusts and foundations and additionally practices in all aspects of estate planning, restructuring, and estate administration, advising on Guernsey’s probate procedures, intestacies and preparing wills for local and non-resident individuals,.
Kim has experience in corporate structuring and commercial contracts, as well as private and commercial property transactions, particularly flowing from her trust work.
- Advised a prominent family on the structuring of their assets within trusts and investment companies to maximize flexibility and minimise tax on future sales, ran two consecutive late estates within the same family owning property and listed stock, with assets offshore in the Isle of Man.
- Advised a Russell Group university on particularities of Zimbabwean contract law and dispute resolution in the area of biomedical research.
Kim joined Babbé’s Private Client and Trust Team as Senior Associate (Non-Contentious Trusts) in August 2021. She has 10 years of legal experience, having started her career in 2011 at a leading firm in Zimbabwe and worked her way up the ranks to Partner where she ran the trusts and estates department for three years. Upon leaving Zimbabwe, she provided advisory services to various organisations and individuals in the UK with interests in Zimbabwe. Kim qualified as an attorney at the High Court, Harare in Zimbabwe in 2012 and is currently in the process of qualifying as a Solicitor in England and Wales. She is a registered Notary Public and Conveyancer in Zimbabwe and a registered member of the Council of Estate Administrators (Zimbabwe). Kim completed her postgraduate LLB Degree in 2009 at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
