Elena has extensive experience advising individuals on the establishment of complex asset holding structures with a focus on the implementation of private trust companies, trusts and foundations. Her clients include both individuals and trustees. She also advises on establishment, governance, operations and regulatory issues for family offices and has carved a niche for herself as a leading family office adviser. She also has a particular experience acting for clients from Russia and the CIS and is a fluent Russian and Ukrainian speaker. Elena has been recognised in “Who’s Who Legal: Private Client” and ranked in Chambers and Partners UK 2020, 2021 and Chambers and Partners Europe 2021.

  • Establishing a single family office in Guernsey for an international family (net worth £3b) to manage the family’s global wealth.
  • Establishing a Guernsey Private Trust Company structure and a series of trusts to undertake generational planning for the children of the settlor.
  • Restructuring a Guernsey single family office (net worth £350m) to improve governance structure and achieve a segregation of assets.

With many years of experience in private practice as a solicitor in London, Elena has also worked directly for a family office based in St Petersburg and London, and then moved into Business Development for an international trust company, gaining her a broad commercial experience.
Elena joined the Trusts and Pensions team at Babbé LLP in August 2017.
