Christopher has fifteen years of experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer, and has been advising offshore companies and financial services for more than ten years. He advises on corporate and commercial law, corporate transactions and business sales, financing and restructuring, as well as financial services regulation. He also advises on matters of corporate governance and director duties, data protection, licensing requirements for Guernsey fiduciaries and due diligence on acquisition targets. He speaks English and French.
- Advising the lender and providing a Guernsey enforceability opinion on the restructuring of loan facilities of an aggregate USD 103,000,000.
- Providing regulatory advice on fiduciary matters for a major bank.
A member of the Bar of Quebec, Christopher obtained his common and civil law degrees from McGill University in Montreal in 2003, then articled at a United Nations tribunal before practicing corporate law at one of the largest firms in Canada. He later obtained his Masters of Public International Law in the Netherlands before practicing corporate law in Bermuda. He also acted as director, corporate secretary and legal counsel to several Bermuda fiduciary and financial service companies. He joined the corporate and fiduciary team at Babbé LLP in 2016.
