Anna is a highly experienced litigator undertaking a wide variety of commercial litigation. Her experience includes international arbitration and mediation, both as counsel and as arbitrator/mediator. She was appointed Queen's Counsel in England in 2001 and is the only Advocate in Guernsey to hold that status. Her experience brings a unique perspective and focus to bear on the heavy trial and appellate caseload handled by the firm.

  • Representing the executive directors of Carlyle Capital Corporation, an investment fund, defending claims put at in excess of $1 billion, in Guernsey’s biggest ever civil trial.  Babbé took the lead role on behalf of the Defendants and was successful in having all of the Plaintiffs’ 187 claims dismissed.
  • Acting for the liquidators of an investment company in a multimillion pound claim against its former directors for breach of duty in failing to prevent a fraud. After securing third party commercial funding, the case was successfully concluded by an early mediation.

After graduating from Oxford University, Anna practised commercial litigation at the London Bar for over 20 years, being appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2001. In 2006 she was appointed a Circuit Judge and tried both civil and criminal cases in London for eight years before moving to Guernsey. She has re-qualified as a Guernsey Advocate and is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team.
