Andrew’s practice focuses on acting for financial institutions from both Guernsey and other jurisdictions. He has extensive experience of trusts and fiduciary matters and has appeared in many reported decisions. His practice, both contentious and non-contentious, extends to insolvency, employment, property and regulatory matters. He has given expert evidence of matters of Guernsey law in a number of foreign jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom and the United States.

  • Acting for a Guernsey trustee coordinating complex proceedings in multiple jurisdictions and working with foreign lawyers (on going)
  • Acting for a trustee in successfully obtaining Court approval of an intended course of action despite vigorous objection by a beneficiary (reported as A and R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 — Judgment 25/2016).
  • Successfully applying to the Royal Court to rectify a Will involving complex issues of foreign law. (Judgment 24/2017).
  • Acting as representative of minors and unborn beneficiaries in a complex application by trustees (on going).
  • Advising a local fiduciary services business in regulatory matters with the GFSC.

Andrew qualified as an Advocate in 1987. He was the firm's Managing Partner for a period of 18 years and in June 2021 moved into the role of Senior Partner with a focus on strengthening client relationships whilst also continuing to lead the private client and trust team.
