Babbé’s dispute resolution team maintains top tier listing in Legal 500 UK rankings
Babbé LLP’s dispute resolution team has maintained its top tier listing in the Legal 500 UK’s 2019-2020 industry report.
The report, a well-respected overview of the legal sector, describes Babbé as a leading Guernsey law firm with an established international reputation for the provision of high-quality legal services in the offshore finance sector; with core aims to provide an integrated and seamless service to clients.
Babbé’s strong financial litigation offering is based on a track record of acting on a significant number of the Bailiwick’s leading cases. Four partners are highlighted within the report: Partners Todd McGuffin, Nicholas Robison and Ian Swan are all recognised for representing multi-national financial institutions and trust companies in corporate insolvency, contentious trust and regulatory disputes, as well as leading on complex commercial litigation matters including highly-publicised civil fraud cases. Anna Guggenheim QC is listed as a leading individual and a go-to name in this field. The directory notes that clients are often referred to Babbé by Law firms in London and further afield in recognition of their work on multi-jurisdictional cases.
Ian Swan, Partner and head of dispute resolution at Babbé is also highlighted in the Legal 500’s Hall of Fame for a further year. This list highlights individuals who deliver continued excellence for clients and are at the pinnacle of their profession. Legal 500 notes that Advocate Swan has shown “enormous” experience in undertaking a wide range of commercial litigation, including frequently acting for and against banks and trust companies in disputes relating to funds and investments.
